Pension funds increasing commercial real estate holdings
Pension funds are increasing their commercial real estate holdings according to Institutional Real Estate, whose survey found that funds were targeting an 8% allocation of assets to real estate compared to 7.5% last year. The Illinois State Board of Investment has made two commitments of $300 million each which will be managed by CB Richard Ellis and ING Clarion Partners. Earlier this month, the Arkansas Teacher's Retirement System increased its commercial real estate allocation by $40 million.
